About CON VEIS

CON VEIS runs a frozen seafood shop on Banks Avenue in Hampton, on Melbourne's Bayside. The suburb is quiet, the fishmongers are few, and most families here plan a fortnight of dinners at once, so the shop is built around that habit.

We keep ten lines: lobster tails, langoustine, black tiger prawns, mantis shrimp, hairy crab, clams, razor clam, sea snail, squid and sea cucumber. Everything is frozen on arrival and held at -18C until the moment it is boxed, and nothing is added to bulk out a pack.

Why we sell seafood frozen

Frozen shellfish keeps for months without preservatives, which means a household can buy once a month instead of shopping for seafood three times a week and throwing half of it away. The freezer does the work that a fishmonger's ice bench used to do.

How an order is packed and sent

A foil-lined bag inside a double-walled carton, with dry gel ice calculated from the weight of the order and the delivery zone. Every pack is weighed before it is sealed, so the net weight on the page is the net weight in the box. Orders are processed in 1 to 3 business days and delivery is estimated at 7 to 14 business days depending on where you are in Australia. Tracking is emailed as soon as the parcel leaves Hampton.

Built for Melbourne's Bayside

There is no shopfront on Banks Avenue, so every order is packed to order, labelled with species and net weight, and sent with tracking. Questions about a cut, a cooking method or a pack size are answered by email or phone, Monday to Friday.
